The general education curriculum for undergraduate students at the University of Nebraska at Kearney supports the university’s academic mission by developing students’ knowledge, skills, and abilities to understand the world, make connections across disciplines, foster their curiosity, and contribute to the solutions of contemporary problems.
Through a structure known as LOPERs – Learning Objectives/Program Essential Requirements, students complete 30-31 credit hours of general education classes in 10-11 categories designed to build characteristics of well-rounded, well-informed, and productive individuals.
